Ahliah School collaborated with Rashet Kheir on an awareness session on Gender-Based Violence.
Included in the session were topics surrounding gender identity, privilege associated with individual and community aspects, identifying types of violence, and supporting survivors.
Several students volunteered to participate in an activity to demonstrate how specific privileges add or hinder value to a person’s quality of life.
They were able to discuss privilege in terms of gender, education, socio-economic status, and physical and mental ability.
Students were then able to ask questions related to consent, discrimination, and laws that protect survivors.
