For the Love of Lebanon: National Heritage Week

In celebration of Independence Day, and as part of Ahliah’s “For the Love of Lebanon: National Heritage Week “activities, Grade 10 students participated in the American University of Science and Technology’s “Lebanon Map through a Creative Lens Competition “.

Throughout a period of two weeks, the students researched aspects of the Lebanese tangible and intangible culture within the different regions in the country. They then sketched, sculpted, and painted 3 D structural geological models and artifacts which depicted distinguishing features of each Lebanese region using papier Mache . The different regions were then joined to form a 3D illustration of the Lebanese cultural map which served as a tribute to the Lebanese cultural richness and diversity.

The final result was a creative map which earned the award of “Best Real-Life Model “at the competition .
