On Friday the 13 th of January, the school welcomed certified trainers and journalists, Mr. Hassan Chaaban and Ms. Fatima Kassem. They conducted an informative session on the topic of fake news and its spread on social media.
The speakers discussed with our 11 th graders the dangers of misinformation and how it can have negative impacts on individuals and society as a whole.
They also provided tips on how to identify fake news and seek reliable sources of information.
The speakers also highlighted the role of social media in the spread of fake news. They urged students to be critical consumers of information and to fact-check before sharing news on social media. The session was well-received by students who appreciated the speakers’ engaging presentation and valuable insights on the topic.
