Every October, the world observes Bullying Prevention and Child Protection Awareness Month, a global call to action to build schools and communities rooted in kindness, empathy, and respect. According to UNICEF, nearly 1 in 3 students worldwide has been bullied by their peers at school, and more than 1 in 5 has experienced cyberbullying. These numbers remind us that awareness alone is not enough, lasting change comes from education, empathy, and shared responsibility.
Bullying can take many forms such as physical, verbal, social, or digital, but its effects are always profound. It can impact a student’s confidence, sense of belonging, and overall wellbeing. That’s why education plays such an essential role. When students are guided to understand empathy, emotional awareness, and digital responsibility, they not only protect themselves but also become allies and advocates for one another.
At Ahliah School, we believe that prevention starts with education, empathy, and open dialogue. By teaching students how to recognize harmful behavior and empowering them to speak up, we cultivate a culture where respect replaces fear and kindness becomes the norm.

Parents also play a vital role in this mission. Through awareness, communication, and empathy at home, they help children develop healthy relationships and safe online habits. When families and schools work together, students learn that kindness and protection are shared responsibilities, values that extend far beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
With this vision in mind, Ahliah School dedicated the month of October to a full-scale campaign on bullying prevention and digital safety, bringing together students, parents, and staff through creative, interactive, and awareness-driven activities aligned with the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) framework.
In collaboration with Himaya, Ahliah hosted an interactive awareness session for parents that explored the various forms of bullying, physical, verbal, social, and cyber. Parents engaged in open discussions and Q&A sessions to better understand how to identify bullying, support children emotionally, and establish healthy digital habits at home. The strong participation reflected parents’ commitment to safeguarding and reinforcing Ahliah’s culture of empathy beyond the classroom.
Students from Grades 6, 9, and 10 participated in a range of awareness sessions designed to promote empathy, kindness, and safe online behavior.
The Himaya team led interactive workshops that encouraged students to reflect on the emotional effects of bullying and to practice inclusion and respect through games, acting scenes, and small group activities.
Meanwhile, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) delivered specialized sessions for Grades 9 high school and 10 (Lebanese Program) focusing on cyberbullying and internet safety. Students learned about responsible online conduct, the dangers of digital harassment, and the importance of protecting their privacy and identity online. These sessions complemented October’s Anti-bullying month campaign and gave students practical tools to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
Throughout the month, the spirit of kindness filled the school through art, music, and storytelling.
Students across different grades created artworks and visual displays that brought empathy and inclusion to life. Colorful Pop Art posters illustrated positive actions, encouraging students to “choose kindness” and “stand up for one another.” The Kindness Blooms project allowed each student to design a flower petal carrying a personal message of compassion , when displayed together, the petals formed a giant mural representing Ahliah’s collective spirit of unity.
In addition, the Kindness Wall became a centerpiece of the campaign. Students filled it with handwritten notes of appreciation, encouragement, and gratitude, small yet powerful reminders of how everyday acts can brighten someone’s day.
Two inspiring songs about kindness and anti-bullying, performed by Grade 4 students, captured the emotional heart of the campaign. Their lyrics celebrated unity, courage, and compassion, echoing Ahliah’s message that kindness begins with each of us.
The Grade 6B play, written and acted by students, told a heartfelt story about empathy and peer relationships. It depicted how understanding, forgiveness, and friendship can overcome exclusion and hurt. The play was warmly received by students and staff, and became one of the month’s most memorable moments, a perfect reflection of learning through empathy and creativity.
As October comes to a close, Ahliah School proudly reflects on a month filled with learning, creativity, and collaboration.
From parent sessions to student workshops, from songs and art to interactive plays, every activity contributed to a culture of empathy and awareness.
Through partnerships with Himaya and the Internal Security Forces, and under the umbrella of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Ahliah reaffirmed its mission to create a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and protected.
Ahliah’s message is clear: kindness is strength, awareness is protection, and together we build a safer, more compassionate community.
