Shadi Saleh is an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Health Management and Policy and the Founding Director of the Collaborative for Leadership and Innovations in Health Systems (CLI) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Prior to joining AUB, Dr. Saleh served as a professor of health management and policy at the State University of New York at Albany where he also was the Director of Certificate Programs and the MD/MPH program.
Dr. Saleh areas of expertise are in evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, quality of health care, health care financing policy, and economic evaluations. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and commissioned reports and serves on the editorial boards of leading health systems journals. Dr. Saleh is a recipient of multiple teaching awards. He serves as a World Bank, WHO and UN advisor for health care financing policy and system strengthening projects.
Dr. Saleh has served in different roles in research centers and health care consulting firms in the MENA Region and the US. He also served on the National Committee on Compulsory Health Insurance and Emergency Social Protection Policy Implementation Support Project Committee in Lebanon. Shadi Saleh holds a PhD in Health Policy (minor in health care finance) from the University of Iowa and an MPH (health services administration) and a BS from AUB.
