In the first week of April, Ahliah’s DEI Committee organized a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the food crisis in Lebanon, reducing food loss and waste, and supporting the work of NGOs in achieving zero hunger.
The campaign started with an awareness session held at Ahliah School during which a representative from the Lebanese Food Bank shared insights on the problem of the current state of food insecurity in Lebanon. Students were urged to be mindful of food waste in their daily lives and encouraged to reduce their consumption and donate surplus food to those in need.
Following the awareness session, DEI members organized a food drive to support the campaign. Ahliah students donated non-perishable basic food staples which were then collected by the Lebanese Food Bank which distributed the items to families in need of support.
