In a heartfelt display of compassion and solidarity, Ahliah School students came together to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Day on campus. The event, organized as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to empathy, health awareness, and community engagement, reflected Ahliah’s core values of kindness, care, and collective action.
Our Grade 12 students led this year’s initiative with remarkable creativity and dedication. They organized a fundraising campaign to support the Lebanese Breast Cancer Foundation by preparing and selling cookies, lemonade, and offering hand paintings. Every gesture carried a purpose, aiming to raise awareness, spread kindness, and contribute to a meaningful cause. All proceeds from the day were donated to support cancer patients.
What made this year’s event truly special was how the seniors personally reached out to every corner of the school. They began their morning by visiting the Preschool classes, carrying trays of cookies, and lemonade. With bright smiles and gentle words, they interacted with the youngest students, explaining in simple terms why the day mattered and teaching kindness through action. The younger children’s excitement as they chose their treats and thanked the seniors created heartwarming scenes of connection and joy.
Later in the day, the seniors set up their main fundraising booths for the school, creating a lively, atmosphere around the school courtyard. Their enthusiasm and teamwork filled the campus, turning the event into a celebration of giving and compassion shared across generations of Ahliah students.
To make the day both meaningful and memorable, the seniors set up interactive awareness booths that combined fun, learning, and giving. Among them were “Spin the Pink Wheel” and “Pop for Hope,” two stations that turned education into play while promoting compassion and awareness.
In “Spin the Pink Wheel,” students donated to spin a pink wheel filled with questions about breast cancer, kindness, and self-care. Each spin brought excitement as students answered awareness questions and won mini gifts. The booth became a lively space of cheers, laughter, and learning, showing how health education can be shared in a fun, inclusive way.
Next to it, “Pop for Hope” offered a different twist. Students popped balloons, each containing a message or question about cancer awareness and empathy. Every balloon revealed something new to learn, sparking meaningful conversations about kindness, health, and support for those fighting cancer. Together, these booths transformed the school courtyard into a place of joy, unity, and purpose where every dollar donated and every game played carried a message of hope.
Adding a heartfelt touch, the seniors created a large cardboard ribbon, the universal symbol of cancer awareness. Inside the ribbon, students pressed their handprints and surrounded them with personal notes and messages of encouragement for cancer patients. The ribbon will be gifted along with the donations as a powerful symbol of solidarity and hope.
The entire campus turned pink, with decorations, ribbons, and balloons filling every corner. Students and teachers wore pink in support of the cause, creating an atmosphere of unity and care. The energy was joyful and sincere, a true testament to the students’ ability to blend creativity with compassion.
Cancer Awareness Day at Ahliah School was more than a one-day event. It was a living lesson in kindness, awareness, and social responsibility. It reminded every member of the community that small actions, when done together, can create a lasting impact.
