Ahliah Preschoolers virtually visit a Dermatology clinic

As part of Ahliah preschool’s theme “Our Community”, which focuses on learning about community helpers, KG3 A and B students attended a virtual trip at My Skin Clinic, guided by dermatologist, Dr. Farah El Chaer, on February 5, 2021.

During this session, students had the chance to virtually meet Dr. El Chaer, learn more about dermatology, the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, and observe the tools used at the clinical practice.

Dr. El Chaer showed the students her clinic, and introduced them to different tools, such as the stethoscope, the magnifier, hydration cream, and sunscreen. She explained the importance of physical hygiene and different ways to apply it, such as washing hands, applying sunscreen when exposed to the sun, especially between 10 am and 2 pm, bathing, cutting nails, eating healthy, etc.

Learners were then given time to ask questions and be involved in a discussion with the doctor. For instance, one of the students was interested to know about a cream used for treating Eczema.

After the visit, a discussion took place assigned during the homeroom classes, and students were assigned a reflection drawing. They reflected on the visit by drawing the tools, and their favorite part of the trip. They also drew some examples that help them maintain a healthy skin.
