Ahliah School has the pleasure to be inviting you to attend an introductory presentation about the practice of Mindfulness, by Founder of Mynd Care, Joseph Zeidan (Psychologist and Psychotherapist specialized in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy).

A research by Harvard University found that our minds wander about 47% of the time. That’s almost half of our waking hours spent thinking about things that are not happening now or in our surroundings, getting distracted by negative judgmental thoughts that can lead to stress, anxiety and even depression.

Practicing Mindfulness aims to train the brain to be present and to focus on now; resulting in becoming more aware and directing our focus to a chosen object/person/thought, as well as adopting an attitude of openness and acceptance.

As part of the Mental Health Awareness week, October 3rd–October 10th, we will be launching a 12-15-week program for students in Mindfulness as an extra-curricular activity. The aim of the Mindfulness Club is to teach our students the practice of Mindfulness which will help them deal with stressful situations, have greater attention, increase self-esteem and compassion. By becoming mindful, a student will adopt healthier and more positive habits, develop more original, creative ideas, and have an excellent memory.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Ahliah School Assembly Hall (Parking will be available).
